Probably should’ve been “installing and using nvidia drivers”.
Probably should’ve been “installing and using nvidia drivers”.
Additionally use Kawase-Blur with a lot of blurring, and this is a non-issue.
good god if this place isn’t unfunny as hell
I think c/lemmyshitpost quite funny, at least the posts itself, not sure about the comment-section…
leads to me getting exceedingly riled up by politics
Fair enough I think it’s also way to overloaded with the depressing evolution of american politics…
Oh in practice it works quite well for me, basically all my friends and family use Signal now. You can slightly push them towards that, explain the obvious pros, it’s simple to install, so it’s just a small matter of convincing. I only rarely use WhatsApp for some external groups.
If it ain’t broken
But it is…
I still have (or rather had) some screen-tearing somewhere. I very much have annihilated that issue with settings in X11 (though some application somewhere still has issues, be it the video player). And it just feels clunky non the less.
Although I’m currently not using Hyprland, it really feels nice to use, really flowy. I’m currently testing COSMIC (which is reasonably still in alpha, as I got issues with *** nvidia, like suspend sometimes hangs the computer).
That said, I think it’s still ok to wait until the whole ecosystem is well supported in wayland, and *** nvidia finally got their wayland shit together.
This is not that uncommon in open source, but I’d think that something like this community project would be more decentralized, i.e. as a lot of people (especially technical people) use it, and see rough edges, that their motivation would be higher to contribute then.
NixOS disagrees
I guess it depends on the user… I have more problems (if at all possible) configuring and maintaining a windows installation than linux. That’s why I ditched it completely, as thankfully the last thing that kept a windows installation on my PC is basically solved by Valve…
Linux Mint maybe? Or Android?
I’d say that is a Nescafé for Mac users
Haha accurate, NixOS is missing.
I’m using a Cafelat Robot.
Would be interesting to know how much of that the steam deck is
It’s definitely better than say a year ago, but it’s always a new small issue. Like suspend is not working, or shutting the monitor off crashes the graphics stack etc.
I really hope they get their shit together and build a solid wayland support at some (not too distant) time. But the amount of issues is small enough for me that I’ve switched to it.
