Shitty software? The software is great. It sucks that we live in a world that needs MFA to be secure. I also don’t think any software exists in the IT space that doesn’t require some sign in. Every RMM on the planet is going to require secure sign on and so will every knowledge base software. You also need to sign in to access things like domain DNS. Most of my job is locked behind half a dozen sign ins. That’s how it goes for MSPs anything else would be unsecure.

Sign in states for tokens expire when you power cycle. If you’re in IT or moving between classes, not only would you have to wait for power down and power on each stop you make,you’d also need to sign into every tool you use that requires credentials. I work as a field tech for an MSP. If I had to shut down at the end of each stop and boot back up then I’d have to spend 20-30 minutes signing back into my RMM, ticket system, azure portal, knowledge base etc on top of the site specific stuff I’m already going to have to sign into for that stop. Sleep great. Just disable S0 sleep.

Ehhhh, you can still get in there. Also there are several control panel only functions. It’s been pretty frustrating how they’ve incremented change. I feel like they should have gone menu by menu in control panel and just built their new settings application page by page and then just pushed one big control panel alternative. Then they could phase the old one out or leave it in for legacy users or whatever. But the new settings and how that menu changes every few months is frustrating as hell.

They disabled the local account for offline devices on all versions including IOT. The solution is to hit shift + f10 for CMD and then running OOBE\BYPASSNRO which enables that feature. But 90% of people setting up windows for the first time just create an account or use one they already have. Not that it’s better to do it that way. Just that it isn’t that difficult.

Probably the fact that you can collaboratively work on the same documents as other users. Or that syncing files to local devices is pretty easy and straightforward. Sharing is also dead easy. From an IT perspective, file retention and versioning is a game changer. I just restored a computer that an angry user attempted to delete all files from when they had been fired because all the data was backed up to OneDrive. I think people just hate OneDrive because it’s often advertised. I think very few people who actually make full use of it, actually hate it.

Oh so you’re bad at using computers. Got it. I can have windows 11 without telemetry in 10 minutes and with a local user profile instead of a Microsoft account. This argument about what you were able to do and how long it took you doesn’t make you look cool or smart. It makes you look like you have no idea what you’re doing.

How often are you installing windows? I deploy probably 7-8 a week. I can have an image usable without telemetry in 10 minutes.

Just learn how to install windows the way you want it to be just like you learn the best way to install a distro. Debloated windows takes minutes to install and takes so little actual effort if you know what you’re doing.

Build your installer with Rufus and bypass most of the Oobe. Then it’s literally a few clicks. You can be at the windows 11 desktop in 10 minutes from USB boot if you know what you’re doing. And if you argue that having to know what you’re doing makes it harder… Linux…

Setting up a local user account only is easy. Shift+f10 to open command prompt and then run OOBE\BYPASSNRO and then you can run the setup with zero network requirements and zero account requirements.

Oh please, we spend an hour fucking around in a new Linux install to get things the way we like them too.

The modern porn industry is much more independent than it used to be. Most creators control and own their content and choose where it gets uploaded initially. In the past, the porn business was absolutely abusive to their stars but I think it’s much less the case these days. Filmmakers have to fight for actors because if they don’t treat them well or pay them their worth, they’ll just post their own content directly to their fans. I’m sure there are still huge negatives but I just don’t think it’s as bad as it once was and I certainly don’t think the porn industry is something to be upset about these days.

Most of the right are the uneducated and poor voting to empower a system that already oppresses them. For many of them, it’s not about what affects whom, it’s about whose side is winning. The fact that a Republican changed sides at all is enough for me. I do not care why.
