A problem with “AI” is that, even if it works, it’s still technology under capitalism and thus endlessly appropriated for exploitation, abuse, profiteering, privilege, etc.

Unfortunately I use Windows at work and I constantly use the CLI. I probably use the CLI more on Linux, but I’m generally doing really awesome stuff on Linux and really dumb stuff on Windows.

If you’re just a regular chud consumer, then maybe you don’t need it on either OS.

If you’re crying about someone using generated art instead of free stock photos… Grow up and find a real issue.

I really don’t understand why people bother with Adobe products. I’ve been using Gimp for like 20 years and it’s never been lacking. I’ve never once thought about re-pirating Photoshop.

Garageband on the other hand… I would kill for a linux equivalent.

It seems like people believe crypto is very valuable and are working hard to steal it.

I use Windows for work and Linux (Debian/Plasma) at home.

MyInsta hasn’t worked for me in months. It was last updated in August 2024. The maintainer said he would fix it months ago on r3dd1t but no dice. I don’t think it’s coming back.

I recommend switching to Pixelfed. I mostly use IG just for chatting with people.

One of the very real applications of AI is enabling people to do terrible things but escape accountability by having “AI” make the decision. This is why “AI” is so popular among the MIC, surveillance state, etc. For example zios have been using “AI” to manufacture “targets” for their genocide. There is no accountability because there is no person to blame. This is a very real and very useful application for hegemony.

Who cares? If someone can’t figure out how to join a server, then I don’t want them here. If people think that reddit has some amazing UX, then I don’t want them here. If people think another corporate website (bluesky) will save us, then please stay away…
