Working with 6 axis industrial robots with astonishing repeatability precision, this still wouldn’t be enough for a 3D printer
I’m doubting the practical feasibility as well

Just tried it, as I already had it downloaded for image manipulation and didn’t know about this feature
Works really reasonable well
To be fair, in such child songs there are often words used, that aren’t really common in daily live - besides sometimes when talking with children, but mostly they are there for the rhyme
‘Mampfer’ is just roughly translated as Eater, which would be more ‘Esser’
‘mampfen’ is better translated as munch(-ing)
So, Trashmuncher probably should have been the better translation
Also the rhyme with ‘zu Hauf’ comes from ‘Haufen’, which is a pile
There was a story from the child book author Thomas Brezina (Austrian), who wrote the series “Knickerbocker Bande”, which is about 4 childs/teens, who do some detective work and solve stuff.
I absolutely loved that series as a child and I’ve read like…I don’t know dozens of them
(After that he created ‘Tom Turbo’ which was more meant for a younger audience)
Anyway, I had a audiobook cassette, which was about a killed scientist, that created “Müllmampfer” (stuff the eats trash) and it would just eat it and it’s gone with that
I’m still having that song in my ear after more than 30 years
“Müllmampfer, Müllmampfer,
die Welt, die braucht Müllmampfer.
Sie fressen jeden Abfall auf und Abfall gibt es hier zu Hauf!”
Roughly translated:
"Trash-Eater, Trash-Eater,
The world, it needs Trash-Eaters.
They eat all the trash and there is a abundance of trash’
So, even 30 years ago, we all were aware of this problem
But as always, capitalism wins, because we need to create new stuff, else the economy can’t grow - and as we all know, infinite growth in a finite system isn’t possible
I’m also remembering stories from my school time (in a technical high school), where they told us, that Phillips just trashed completely newly produced DVD players, because selling them at lower prices, would have crashed the market and would have brought in a net negative for their future products.
Long story, short:
This system is just not sustainable in any way…
Just check it with lsusb on Linux and you’ll see the device and vendor id stays the same, independent of the port - else no udev rules would work
Don’t know though what ever the fuck windows is doing…
That’s because some program still accesses it
Could be just your file browser (“explorer”) that has a window open with the content of that device, or maybe some program has a hiccup and didn’t free it’s file pointer
Usually you have a vendor and a device id to identify the connected device on the bus
You’re right though, that in every different port it will get its own memory allocated an so on (at least I also believe that), but that’s no reason to not identify the already known device

You’re right, that training takes the most energy, but weren’t there articles claiming, that reach request was costing like (don’t know, but not pennies) dollars?
Looking at my local computer turn up the fans, when I run a local model (without training, just usage), I’m not so sure that just using current model architecture isn’t also using a shitload of energy
It’s the institutionalisation of religion that’s a problem.
If everyone would just focus on finding their own connection with god/the universe/whatever, nobody would have a problem.
Fuck churches and using religion for politics.
That’s why we have the separation of church and state at least - although not enough and currently it’s backpedaling…
And you still went for your edited version on not just gave up and post the original?
Not sure what to say. Maybe respect for your commitment?
Tried their demo on mobile.
Is the highlighter for everyone just working, when you start in a non-text area?
If I try to mark just one word in the text, it does nothing. If I start in a non-text area, I can move over the text afterwards.
But highlighting single words or text parts is pretty much the use case for a highlighter.
Maybe it’s just my Firefox on android…
Would love to see a picture of that
rsync?
Yeah, can recommend that one too Although it sometimes seems to have some performance problems with a large amount of files - could be, that it’s already fixed though
Families? Oo
Ah, yeah, thanks!
That was it!
I’m sporting a Framework 16 since a few months and had some battery problems at first. Due to work load, I couldn’t really get into the problem and something I changed or updated resolved it.
But I sent a mail to framework support at that time and the answer was just awesome.
Not just some typical 1st level response to update or restart, but real technical questions and obvious interest in my problem.
They even sounded a bit sad, that I couldn’t really tell them anything, because the issue resolved without me being able to pinpoint it.
On that note, I also have to say, that Tuxedo support was really good.
My Pulse 15 battery was starting to get a belly, and they sent me a new one without much questions - and no pay.
Now, after like 4-5 years, I have my old Pulse to my nephew and saw that the CMOS battery is dead. Again they just sent me a new one.
Some companies really deserve to get recommended.
Could very well be, yeah…
Just heard it an a movie or series like a week ago the first time, but can’t really remember where I heard it
Maybe better to get some basic self defense training
It’s not always possible to carry your gun and just shooting someone isn’t the answer anyway.
Break an arm, destroy a knee, kick some balls.
That should do the trick as well and is much more reasonable in most situations
And imho also more satisfying
Especially as you learn some confidence, as you then carry your weapon all the time and can use the force necessary for each situation
