I’m not hopeful it will, especially since the U.S. has already gone back to killing children instead.

I don’t think anyone is worried about there being too many old people for young people to look after. I believe you’re confusing that for the very serious issue, being that there won’t be enough young people financially supporting social services to adequately fund them to meet the needs of the aging population. In that sense, AI automating jobs directly exacerbates the problem, because less young people working means less taxes funding things like social security and Medicare in the US.
Arguably, the actual conservative party died in like 2012-2014, and the Tea Party has just been wearing their skin ever since. Guess Americans can only demand more from their elected leaders if the demand is to be more racist.
If you ask a friend to help you bury a body and they agree, that person is definitely a good friend. They’re a bad person for assisting you in murder, but you can be a good friend and a bad person.
It’s honestly more impressive that the family even found lawyers to take the case. As someone who’s been dealing with a frightfully similar situation at work, entitled parents trying to use a lawsuit to “correct” a clear student error, we’ve had 4-5 different law firms reach out to us for details about the case, and every time they thank us for our time and refuse to pursue the case further because it’s clear the kid was in error.
As someone working adjacent to highschools in the West, there’s not a single difference in my experience to theirs. It’s not an issue of their economic system, it’s an issue of people around the entire world. Seems like entitlement has never been higher amongst parents.
Having worked with parents like this before: No. None at all. They’d rather throw thousands of dollars at different attorneys hoping one of them will take the case to teach their children to never have shame.

I don’t have any inherent disagreement, but I feel like I’m gonna need you to show your work. Can’t you have beef pepperoni? that feels very close to milk, and only a step away from cream.
I mean you can find recipes in this very thread, it doesn’t have to be a mystery to you.
You do realize that the root is from punk, right? That there exists an anti-capitalist social movement that predates both of your examples?
Even though I know it’s named after him, Punk Records gets a laugh out of me every time I see it. I can’t help but think of all the Dead Kennedy records on Egghead Island.
I mean, sure, technically. They’d have to know English, know the programming language that was used for the probe, know the transmission frequency that the probe accepts, know the boundaries and limitations of the probe so that they don’t actually force any errors, and presumably would need to crack the encryption preventing anyone else from reprogramming Voyager 1. They’d also either need to be able to generate incredibly strong radio waves through space in order to transmit their code, or they’d need to be close enough to us that we’d be able to detect their presence.
While that’s all technically possible, the odds of it happening are pretty low.
I dunno, seems pretty good for queer spaces and shitposting, but I guess .world doesn’t know much about either.
