Considering I already make tools for people to automate parts of their jobs, and they still struggle. I am not worried at all about that.

It’s so far off being able to make software, it’s smart but will never be that smart… Well if it does we’re all done for.
It’s a fantastic tool for getting a layout for your code however.
Osrs already has free to play no?
The verge put out a really terrible PC building guide about 5 years ago which hurt their reputation. So the joke is just that the verge isn’t trust worthy.
But that was 5 years ago and they corrected their mistakes since.
Mate you’re babbling like an old man too. Spam has been automated for a long time. Deepfakes are indeed a problem I agree, but again Photoshop has existed for a long time. Tailor made propaganda has existed as long as civilization has existed. Companies in tech space hand their staff layoffs and hiring in cycles, AI was just the latest excuse. And OpenAI isn’t even publicly traded.
Stop talking shit and touch grass.
I love this mindset. It’s so regressive, it’s like watching old people form
Is that the verge as a source
It’s harsh to criticise people for not working for free…
Right but a small company or even a group of people aren’t going to put resources into something that a few % of people use. Look at Linux, despite it being the most used operating system in the world, retail sticks to windows and Mac, so it just doesn’t get the same level of support.
I completely agree in the sense people should educate themselves and use products that benefit them and don’t abuse them, but people don’t. And because people don’t, companies won’t.
You said it better than I could
Most people don’t use federated services. I know it’s ironic that an open source project isn’t using open source channels, but sometimes it’s best to stick to services that are easy access and popular.
I’m sure if enough people got in contact about using open source communication they would likely attempt it.
I use Ubuntu on my servers because it just… Works, out of the box I can run my scripts and have no issues 100% of the time. On desktops I used to use SolusOS for gaming as that was the only Linux OS at the time I could comfortably game on without many hiccups.
They did follow rule 6 though, it states to not ask for a recipe without engaging with the op. They replied to the op asking for a recipe so that’s engagement. If you want to enforce rules make sure the rules make sense first.
This is just speculation, but I’m pretty sure Microsoft stopped caring about people pirating windows and using licences they shouldn’t have. They would rather you use windows as a pirate than not use windows at all.
Additionally, using jottacloud with 2 VPS’s (one of them being built on epyc like from OVH cloud) can get you a really good download server and streaming server for about £30 a month, which is the same as having netflix and Disney plus, except now you can have anything you want.
I have a contabo 4core 8gb ram VPS that handles downloading content.
A OVH 4core 8gb VPS that handles emby (I keep trying to go back to jellyfin but it’s just slightly slower than emby at transcoding and I need to squeeze as much performance out of my VPS as possible so… Maybe one day jelly)
And I have a really good streaming experience with subtitles that don’t put big black boxes on the screen making 1/8th of the screen non viewable.
Mastercam does pretty well once you force it to use hardware accelleration
But another thing to consider as well, what’s the point in this whole society thing if we’re not working towards… Not forcing future generations to work.
We already know there isn’t going to be enough work for everyone, the problem isn’t AI it’s politics.
