

I’ve been playing with linux since the mid 90s. I have it on majority of my devices, but my main is still running windows 10. Exactly because it doesn’t run everything I need 100%, nor do I enjoy spending hours trying to get things to work anymore.

It already does. I like to review the updates and wait a while to see if they cause any issues. When I’m confident with the updates, I temporarily remove the block from the firewall.
It still would have to get past my firewall to try to make it so.
My home firewall blocks ads and telemetry, no matter device/OS.
So it’s either using auto run to execute malicious code (not an issue in Linux), or it acts as a keyboard and sends malicious command - which would work regardless of the USB partition being mounted or not.
What malware spreads automatically from just mounting the drive?
