yuri’s revenue?
was this some business tycoon/red alert crossover?
it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s fine. It’s not awful though. Arcane, yes. very powerful? also yes.
I’m still 34. Does this make me old?
I do not care for customization. What I care for is consistency. So whatever distro I choose, I always install the stock kde and leave it like that.
but that won’t trick investors into funding more of it
only one needs to read the data. Only one needs to write it (the receiver)
if you’re found later with a bunch of pirated material, you’re the one who gets prosecuted, not whoever you dowloaded it from
it’s a digital item. You can only make a copy
you are literally choosing to run the software that writes it to your disk. You also (probably) take steps to ensure the uploader does not have access to your disk. You are in control of what gets saved
when downloading something, you are making a copy. That copy is unauthorized. It’s illegal. The distributor didn’t give it to you, they still have their copy. And you just reproduced it again.
downvotes are because you are saying provably factually incorrect things.
ah so they only downloaded them illigally, and then used them illegally, but didn’t share them illegally. got it
I set it up once on install, 4 years ago. I have never needed to tweak any settings after that. Even when installing a different distro (config lives in the home directory)
except that extensions are second class citizens at best, on gnome. Some (or all, sometimes) of them will break after an update.
it doesn’t allow changes to stuff that needs root access to change. If you have root access you can do anything, including switching images. It is not more secure. It’s not less either
it’s federated. It’s the only way it can work. Everything still on that ist must suffer from the same thing. Federation means handing stuff to someone else. Once that’s done, it’s out of your hands forever.
and it will suck your servers dry.
they need none of that stuff. It’s your own pc that handles the heavy stuff. From their end, the only point is to allow you to stream videos from behind one or more NATs
