I wish I was joking. Someone out there was dumb enough to need a reminder on that one.

You’ll love my comment from yesterday!
Been on Gmail since it was invite only. It really is best in class. Hate on Google all ya like, but they got a lock on email early in the game.
And for those that think getting away from it is a matter of choosing another email provider, I’ll say that Gmail does loads more than deliver email. Authentication is a huge and obvious use. Reading comments around here leads me to believe that many don’t understand Google for Business and how integrated an org can be with those services.
Another note, just because the domain isn’t gmail.com doesn’t mean it isn’t served by Google. For most companies it would be insane to host their own services and cheaper to let Google handle it all.
Stillborn? What killed it?
You still have to apply and get accepted. This is what kills me about people thinking government-paid college is a degree mill. No, you have to get in in the first place, and you must work hard to stay in.
I’ve never seen “poor” as included under DEI.
More pizza delivery drivers get shot than cops.
Pretty certain that stat is from America. Also, pretty certain my post was the opening to one of the most famous cyberpunk novels of all time.
At least you’d get a long look at the elephants before you splatted on the turtle.
This is America. People do whatever the f*** they feel like doing, you got a problem with that? Because they have a right to. And because they have guns and no one can f***ing stop them. As a result, this country has one of the worst economies in the world. When it gets down to it–we’re talking trade balances here–once we’ve brain-drained all our technology into other countries, once things have evened out, they’re making cars in Bolivia and microwaves in Tadzhikistan and selling them here–once our edge in natural resources has been made irrelevant by giant Hong Kong ships and dirigibles that can ship North Dakota all the way to New Zealand for a nickel–once the Invisible Hand has taken all those historical inequities and smeared them out into a broad global layer of what a Pakistani bricklayer would consider to be prosperity–y’know what? There’s only four things we do better than anyone else:
music
movies
microcode (software)
high-speed pizza delivery
Keep going! It was worse before the internet, slightly better once it started gaining content. When you’re ignorant as a stump on a given tech, starting from 0 is hell.
When I began learning SQL I didn’t know the search terms I wanted and my questions were too simple to get results. My first script took me 8 hours, for 8 very short lines. A year later I stumbled on that script at work and laughed, all stuff I could write from memory, easily.
Sounds like you need to back up and parse your ambitions into smaller chunks. That’s too much to digest at once. You know how to eat an elephant, right?
Gemini fails at software “how to” questions all the time. Maybe 50% of my results are accurate? To be fair, as with most software outfits, Google’s own docs are often dated.
Google Gemini gives me solid results, but I stick to strictly factual questions, nothing ambiguous. Got a couple of responses I thought were wrong, turns out I was wrong.
Got the truncated version without the radio, just the clock half, faux wood grain, all that. Took me awhile to land the perfect one at a thrift store, but it should last until Ragnarök.
For the alarm part, “Hey Google, set alarm to $x.” (I mounted minis in all my ceilings for convenience and music.)
So they’d smell like a freshly oiled gun? Not sexy, but I could deal with that.
At first I thought, “I could live with that, get creative on changing stuff for cheap.” But it kept getting worse and worse and worse.
I’d still love to own that property.
no visible identifiers that they were security.
Shoot. Them.
who refused to identify themselves or for whom they worked, then pulled Borrenpohl from her seat and dragged her out of the auditorium
Three unidentified men assault me, I’m shooting. It would be damned hard to get me to draw, get me into a situation I can’t get out of, but this is clearly such a case.
(If you carry, or even have a gun in your home, you damned well need to understand the self-defense laws in your jurisdiction. They’re often more restrictive than either liberals or conservatives think. It ain’t the free-for-all either side believes.)
Florida would like a word. And I’d say $15 is closer to the actual minimum you’ll get paid around here.
Ah! Thought it was Jack Handey.

I’m fine with my 12-pack a day of Keystones.
Used Keeper at my last gig. Was pretty happy with it all in all. Lacking some admin features, rock and roll support. Not too pricey, but it is per-user/per-month. Played nicely with our Google auth.
