Are the “Windows evangelists” in the room with us right now? Every Windows admin I know hates Microsoft with a burning rage. Literally the only people I’ve ever seen promote Windows are being paid to do it.

Counterintuitively, that’s one reason I like dealing with Windows: the community knows what it is and doesn’t pretend otherwise, like some other more “zealous” fan bases.

I once had a person refuse to troubleshoot a monitor issue over the phone. 2.5 hours away. Swore to me that they hadn’t messed with the monitor cables since it last worked. They had both ends of the HDMI plugged into the same monitor.

Can’t tell if this is satire or just more deluded, out of touch wishful thinking. Don’t get me wrong: I would LOVE to see Microsoft dethroned. But Windows would have to become literally unusable before we see a mass migration to Linux.

The bots have really ramped up since Trump took office again. Seeing so many top comments with thousands of upvotes just gaslighting the shit out of frightened Americans, telling them they need to touch grass and everything is fine…it’s so chilling.
