Yeah, you should absolutely use a dryer. It’s especially important if you want transparent prints since the slightest amount of water makes the print way less transparent.
Mine dryer is the cheaper food dryer I could find plus some 3 printer adapter walls so a filament roll fits.
It works very well and is likely better than many more expensive filament dryers.
The Bambu transparent PETG I bought last year is pretty damn transparent when printed out at the right settings (iirc, fairly low temperatures, very slowly and the filament must be as dry as possible). The test prints I made kinda looks closer to a dusty lens than a translucent material. I couldn’t find a picture of the test prints I made but I can post some if anyone is curious.
Just don’t do it if you use any private trackers.
I’m fairly certain that you could get banned if you put public trackers on a torrent from a private tracker.
If you are gonna do that you might as well change your torrent client settings to automatically include the extra trackers.
That’s a waste of time. The torrent already comes included with the needed trackers.

I don’t think it justifies putting remote streams as a whole behind a paywall. But I suspect that the feature is very widely used since it makes remote streams work out of the box regardless of your setup. It’s also turned on by default.
Requiring a subscription for remote access is actually fucking insane, they don’t have any bandwidth costs associated with that other than authentication so ???
They have provided a free relay service for years that makes it possible to access a server even if there are things in the way like CGNAT. That service had a low bandwidth limit but undoubtedly cost them money, so yes. But yes, they should have just moved that feature entirely to Plex pass (there is already a higher bandwidth limit for Plex pass users)
Browser apps are very annoying though. The support for some codecs (like HEVC) is usually worse in a browser.

You have drives packaged like other stuff with a colourfull box with marketing and all that? All the drives I have ever bought in store or online were shipped or handed over to me like I described above.
SSDs and external hard drives usually have some kinds of retail box here, but I don’t think HDDs usually do. Granted, I have never bought the normal consumer tier drives, like Seagate baracuda or WD Blue so maybe that’s why. For personal use in my PC, I usually stick with Seagate Ironwolf or WD Red.

All the drives I ever purchased came in just a plain box with packing materials and the drive in some antistatic bag. So I assume the retailer gets big loads of disks from the manufacturer/reseller and unpacks them and then ships them individually and thus packs them on demand.

I work in IT supporting windows (server primarily) and from my perspective it does work pretty well. We have around 1500 Windows clients and around 400-500 Windows servers and it works pretty damn well. Sure problems happen, in general it does work. Now, I don’t work in T1 support so I’m not sure how often people have problems but I would definitely hear about it if it were as bad as some on Lemmy claim.
Our Windows Servers in general work great, I don’t think we have noticeably more problems with them compared to our Linux servers which we have maybe 20% more of.
Remember that pretty much the entire enterprise world use primarily or exclusively Windows clients and that would absolutely not be the case if they were “held together with string and ready to crumble randomly.” That would simply not be acceptable in companies which could lose millions in just lost productivity.
I use Powershell a lot at work, and I really like it. Especially compared to bash which gives me headaches when reading.
But yeah install-module and uninstall-module can sometimes be quirky. The easiest solution is to remove the files for the directory.

I’m pretty sure the reason is that because the share is mounted using the users account and doesn’t affect anything else. It kinda makes sense for me because that is just the way Windows works ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Two users can have different mapping so giving a permission denied doesn’t make a lot of sense since it simply doesn’t exist for the user.

It’s probably possible to modify my solution to allow that but I haven’t and I doubt I have the space for it.
