I’ve used XFCE for more than a decade now and this is my experience exactly. People usually recommend it for lower end systems, but I’ve yet to find anything more comfortable, even for my high-end desktop machine.
Every few years, when an all-new fancy Gnome/KDE version is released again, I give it a try, but I’m always back to XFCE within days.
Try defining a function instead of an alias in your .bashrc
:
function capitalize() {
prename 's/(^[a-z]?)/\U$1/' *
}

Whats the best email service?
Really depends on how you define “best”, but maybe Fastmail if your priority is features and usability or Protonmail if you value privacy a lot.
I would love to selfhost, but my internet service provider blocks port 25…
Selfhosting email is generally not worth it in my opinion and doing it from a residential connection is pretty much doomed to fail right from the start.

Just wanted to say that I was pretty disappointed with the C920 as well. The difference to my work MacBook’s webcam is quite literally night and day. With the C920, anything but bright, frontal, uniform illumination gives you a bad to mediocre image, while with the MacBook I could pretty much sit in complete darkness and nobody would notice a difference.
I think if you want something actually good for streaming you’ll have to use a real camera that can stream to your PC instead of a “webcam”. Not sure which brands are compatible with Linux though. Many streamers do list their streaming equipment in their bio, so you might just want to look around for someone like that with a good looking stream or just ask.
