I used to contribute to that on Reddit. Might be worth trying to revive and post on here about if you have the time to mod it still.
My own experience with this was posting a shower thoughts thread while quite inebriated, forgetting I’d done it then waking up with a fairly full inbox so nothing controversial or argumentative.
Yeah I could definitely identify each euro coin by feel.
That’s a really thorough answer and I appreciate it. Thanks.
Could someone familiar with house pricing there tell me roughly how many lower end houses this would amount to?
Solaris was great until they insisted on keeping their crappy CPU for way too long before adding x86 support and lost their market share and their company.
It was a terrible gamble and they lost hard to Linux as a result.
There are two Lidl beans. The extra 10p for the ring pull one gets you more than just the convenience. :) Worth trying both though.
Yaaarrrrns.
Yeah that makes a lot of sense in fairness.
I’m not sure if I’m alone in this but I have a terrible aversion to transcoding. I know the loss of quality is probably not that huge (depending on the original codec) but I just can’t bring myself to get past it.
As a result I have a tiny arm based box with a 2tb SSD and I’m happy out.
That non stacking thing annoys the piss out of me haha. It’s such a small thing and it’s deliberate to make the tin look bigger but it just means they’re taking up more space in the cupboard for lack of stacking or falling over if you do.
Also not a huge Heinz fan. Like they’re not bad don’t get me wrong but definitely agree on the watery-ness.
The most popular one here is probably Bachelor’s which has a thicker, richer sauce though I’m fond enough of the Lidl own brand one. That is definitely partly down to price. They’re ridiculously cheap and very decent with a fry especially if you warm them slowly to soften them.
I thought Heinz was the gold standard in the UK. I must try the Branston ones. Flippin’ love that pickle.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen them in the supermarket in Ireland but my sister’s visiting from the UK on Sunday so I think I’ll place an order.
The latest android versions on quite a few phones allow you to stop charging at 80%.
On my phone it’s: settings->battery->charging limit.
It may be different on your phone so maybe just search for “80” in the settings menu.
Yeah spot on. Deleting.

100% fair and I do generally follow that rule with my phone and mostly enable the “stop charging at 80%” feature but I’ve noticed two downsides to it:
I’m a bit more carefree with the headphones partly because it’s harder to tell and partly because it’s a much, much easier battery replacement.
As long as they’re not squashed!
The problem is the previous alternative was popping them in the green bin which our household was already doing. We are doing no more recycling but it’s now a lot of space consumption (squashed bottles or cans are rejected) and more hassle.
No we recycled them and recycle rates were really high. They just went in the green wheelie bin and were picked up every week or two.
I would be fine with the deposit scheme but the plastic bottles and aluminium cans all need to be in perfect condition / no squashing them down so they quickly start taking up a lot of space in our (busy) house then need a trip to the store followed by putting them in a scanning machine one by one where before we could just squish them and pop them in the green bin.
I’m not doing any more recycling but now I have a lot more effort unfortunately.
Also no glass in the scheme.
I’m honestly not a fan as someone who was recycling everything already.
There are about two people on here who wouldn’t say “fuck Henry Kissinger”.
What a massive load of shite. The fucking smell of boot polish off your breath is disgusting.
Jog on.
It’s an analogue of the same subreddit which was spawned on reddit after “momforaminute” became very popular over there. I used to contribute on the dad one on reddit and I’m just a contributor making folks aware of the one here rather than being a mod or anything.
Also, I suppose kids come to different parents for different areas of advice and / or differing relationships with their parents. Certainly that’s the case with my own kids.
I don’t see any reason why not but again I’m not the mod.
edit: I do recall quite a few of the folks asking for help or advice being ones who had grown up without a dad and they felt a certain loss in that regard so were reaching out from that perspective. Also people whose father had died and they used to go to them for advice in a specific area.
