The requirement for port forwarding narrows that down to AirVPN and Windscribe, which is an unfortunately small set of choices.
I’d appreciate it if everyone could just stop burning fossil fuels, please. Thank you for your cooperation.

I’m sort of tired of articles describing some catastrophe that happened ten years ago and saying “it’s worrying.”
The Pirate Bay is perfectly fine for that sort of thing.
“not that bad” — a very comfortable and well-decorated prison. But you can’t blame pixelfed for every poor choice its users might make in their lives.
approx $6.84USD
Huh. So definitely not worth it then. Just buy a space heater instead. When I did it a few years ago I got $500 out of it, but it cost me a $350 video card which died soon after.
WARNING To the People of Earth: Teenagers exist. BEWARE
the standard basically just looks better
Place your bets everyone, has OP ever looked at either standard?
Oh no my shameful secret is discovered: I never got around to visiting the zoo when I lived in Toronto.
Looking at the Firefox Librewolf “print preview” it does actually look quite easy to read.
I wonder how many of my stupid comments on lemmy have been converted to PDF, printed on paper, and stored in a filing cabinet.
The only way to win the game of “Bot, or troll?” is not to play and hit the block button instead. Which I will go ahead and do now.
Pointing people to reddit, as if that’s an alternative. When a VPN provider makes such bad choices it’s tempting to imagine that the decision was influenced by somebody who wants to secretly get the message out that the company is no longer to be trusted, because it’s hard to see any other logic in it.
The centralized social media have demonstrated again and again that content moderation at scale can never work well the way they do it. They are a menace to society. The problem isn’t that Elon Musk is the wrong person to decide how a billion people should be allowed to talk to each other and which of their voices should be amplified, it’s that nobody should ever have that power.
A diverse network of smaller instances where each is free to take its own approach is the future of social media, if it has a future.

Perhaps this will motivate makers of web browsers to finally get serious about making fingerprinting less easy. Looking at you, Mozilla.
I like blobcats
It’s CVE-2024-36904 from May 2024. Last year’s news.
Tankies of lemmy are not the first people I’d go to with topical cybersecurity questions.
Port forwarding lets you connect with other hosts peer-to-peer which a VPN would otherwise block if both sides are behind one. For torrents you’d get more peers (which doesn’t matter if you’re just downloading the latest and most popular stuff) and be able to seed more effectively.
