and the linux desktop
and the linux desktop
probably you’re right, I haven’t yet done the research to understand how to use them properly or know the difference (iirc proton is wine modified by valve but that’s about as much as I know), I haven’t had time to look closely into it
I’m not sure if it’s better to play native linux games than to use wine
some games I tried, the native linux version had broken lighting, while the wine version worked fine
also with wine all your saves are in the game folder, and it doesn’t make a mess by saving files wherever the developer thought would do the job
also it’s easier to find the latest version for windows than it is for linux
on temple os, it reports directly to God
I’m thinking I’ll finally join the osu! crowd
I think only the storage of a profile’s information is decentralized, not everything else
obligatory “there is always a relevant xkcd”
I think that the best way to get a smart tv is with a big monitor and a small raspberry pi, it makes sense and you have complete control over the hardware, rejecting anti-comsumer tactics is way better than rejecting technology
I think this is because technological progress allows discourse between people living on opposite sides of the planet, aligning our morals planetwide, ditching what doesn’t work in one society and adopting what they do somewhere else
it’s good to share beliefs, opinions, and ways of living so that we are aware of what other options exist out there
I think this is what’s going to end discrimination once and for all, because what we get to see isn’t only what is filtered by public media like tv, which is often controlled by political agents who profit from racism and such
exactly, I’m very thankful for the foss guys who put their work towards helping everyone
also I think it’s important to separate actual innovation from “innovations”, as the latter is just shit rich people throw at investors to get richer by lying
personally I think progress is still too slow, regarding things like space exploration, medicine, science, and where all the real stuff is at
I firmly believe humanity is destined for greatness and one day we may become basically gods, only ones of knowledge instead of raw omnipotence (if we dont get extinct in the next 200 years)
I really like this art style
I don’t think Temple OS is linux though

maybe you can try to change the runner of the game, you could try with proton-ge instead of wine-ge, or some other thing
I do that on Lutris in case the game doesn’t work, or it is slower than it should be, or it has problems with input or output
upto now every game I wanted to install worked with at least one of the options
edit: also other easy things you might try can be the windows version and the bit architecture
if some of these options don’t work quickly, you can check on wine’s website or proton’s website, where you can find reccomended configurations for games and software
it can be
edit: I just noticed this was a link to an article, my bad
Archimedes is going to get really angry when he reads your comment
I like the stremio app with the torrentio extension, it’s really easy to use, and with your stremio account you can keep track of the movies and series you watch
the issue is that without a debrid provider, which you have to pay for, many series and movies aren’t seeded, so more obscure media is less likely to work
I have no way to confirm or deny this, it may as well be true for all I know
(my first comment on lemmy! yay!)
opnsense sounds like what I was looking for (if I understand correctly)
I had no idea there was a way to go around the ipv6 restrictions
