Sorry, it’s not sovereign CA territory. The use of the land was granted in perpetuity to CA, the land remains French.
I loved the idea of navidrome and also briefly ran an instance, and like you use plexamp heavily. I stopped using Navi because one day it broke, and I found the plexamp experience just better.
Maybe it’s time to try again.
Jellyfin is actually open source and free. Totally self hosted. Emby is closed source and has a licensing model similar to Plex’s.
Man someone doesn’t like this vein of discussion.
Anyway, I don’t know what the admin staffing looks like, or what availability they have. I do think when there’s multiple posts from other instances specifically criticizing lemmy.world (including posts detailing post removal etc.) hitting the top of the feed, that 3 days of silence isn’t a good look.
A response when the topic was first blowing up and something that either better justifies the mods’ actions or justifies actions taken to address mods.
A very weak response, and several days late. Not impressed.
Wow this sure is overstated. The biggest actual risk here is ISPs doing deep inspection and getting data from private trackers.
Not nothing, but the ‘RCE’ they are claiming relies on an edge case and a lot of manual work on the part of a potential attacker who would also need to be able to intercept your traffic on the off chance you run qbit on windows and use qbit to install python.
This, to me, is a big nothing burger.
There is slightly more openness to androids layers than the win32 layers as well.
I still remember symlinking to binaries in my windows system folder back in the late 90s to be able to run office 95 under Linux. (The MSFT system files permitted some things to work properly that just didn’t with the wine provided libraries back then)
I do exactly this, and use Keepass2Android on my phone and have nextcloud-KeeWeb installed.
Tangentally related - For anyone looking to take over a project, KeeWeb is looking for a new maintainer!
You can use version numbers, but it’s on you to change them when new point releases drop.
I guess it’s a good thing the Debian releases all have version numbers then.
I duct taped a RPi4 to the back of a Motorola Lapdock and used custom cables to make the combo into the worst laptop ever.
If yours counts, mine does too.
This is what the Lapdock looks like:
I’ve got a 500mhz Celeron from the P3 days, it runs OS/2 and has an ISA EPROM burner card in it.
Yes, the crime of giving them a stable OS that once it is set up keeps working reliably for years to come.
This method is literally killing the patient’s entire immune system by irradiation. They then replace it with a donor immune system that might in turn try to kill them.
This isn’t a good option for the vast majority of patients to wipe out a virus that can be well managed with drugs.
The reason that it was done here is that the treatment is intended to cure them of cancer, and as a side effect eliminates their HIV infection.
The brutal bone marrow transplant that can “cure” HIV is only an option for patients who also have leukaemia
So they wipe out all the patient’s bone marrow, let them simmer in a immuno-bubble-room for a bit, then give them a stemcell bone marrow transplant from someone whose bone marrow is hiv resistant and hope to high hell that the process itself doesn’t result in the patient’s death.
Oh, and out of caution they continue to consider the patient HIV pos for the rest of their lives anyway.
For me, the real takeaway is that medical professionals no longer view HIV a big enough health risk to consider stuff like this viable for HIV patients in general.
My last year of uni I was broke. The previous year the parking passes had red letters, that year purple. That was the only difference. The colour. I traced over all the letters of my previous parking pass with a blue sharpie and parked for free all year.
This looks very cool, but I feel like its failure modes would be brutal. I’ve seen some failed prints turn into hairy balls of melted hate, but upside down…I feel like its begging to have a print adhesion failure just break everything.
