After seeing the “innovations” Tesla has (e.g. doors that don’t open in emergencies, weirdo dashboards, subscription “features” for your car, etc.) I think I’m all good on “innovation” in my car purchases. But you do you.

Rivian doesn’t have first mover advantage if you’re talking about stocks.
In the US basically every new EV is more expensive than a similar gas car. It’s a shitty EV market. Teslas specifically were much more expensive than a regular car in 2020. Then there’s the problem of having to charge it. Which you either have to live in moneybags areas to have the public infrastructure, or you have to have a house (moneybags territory) with probably a charging station (also moneybags). So yeah, I fully stand behind my original statement.
After the bad experience with startup, tech company car brands that caused you to short sell your Tesla, your long-term plan is to get a different startup, tech company car?
🤦♂️
That’s mr moneybags level shit.
As is buying an electric car in the first place.
I’ve been a member for a couple of years and assumed it was warmed up frozen pizza, but I looked up the process and it isn’t. It really tastes pretty good (especially for the price).
That time was last night. The location? Costco. $10 for a pie is the best deal going right now.
You can be a content creator. It’s not that difficult to post a meme. Content creators aren’t another species.
Honestly lemmy specifically is good enough to scratch my Reddit itch. We may not be able to post our way out of fascism, but we can certainly post our way out of the centralized, enshittified platforms like Reddit where we came from.
I think it’s more difficult in applications where you want or have to bring a lot of friends to make the apps useful, but in the case of lemmy specifically if there’s a baseline level of activity that’s enough to fulfill 90% of what i used Reddit for (i.e. snarky memes and random back and forths with relative strangers).
Our ancestors had intelligence in spades. They figured out an insane amount of stuff just to survive;
The idea of “surviving” doesn’t even come into play in the evaluation of other species. Stupid as hell species survive for hundreds of thousands of years on Earth, that’s how conducive it is to life. You seem to have some unfounded civilized cavemen POV on our ancestors when really we’re still all apes + advanced language.
The dawn of civilization wasn’t us going from some lone person survival style steam game where we came into the world solo dolo in a pair of underwear.
I honestly thought Louis CK was going to take up the Carlin mantle. But instead he invited people up to his hotel room to watch him wank onto a mantle.
I wasn’t always sold on the guy. He got a little too cozy with the “anti-woke” bullshit. But he always remained better than the best of that set, and somewhat distinct from them as well.
After seeing his Kimmel appearance, I’m convinced. Hand him the keys.
Nah I didn’t have a lot of time to mess around with that stuff I just wanted my system to work. It’s much easier to find answers when things go wrong on Ubuntu too because it’s more popular.
One immediate thing that irritated me was the process for pairing a Bluetooth keyboard was completely bugged out and it took me a while to even see where and how to enter the code. It looked like it just didn’t work for no reason at first and it took a lot of hunting to figure out that I had to enter a code.
There were other things too. Cinnamon crashed. Qt applications didn’t work in ways that were difficult to troubleshoot. Sleep seemed non-functional. There aren’t any power modes which I used to use heavily on that laptop and on and on.
I tried mint; it was worse. I was like oh well, guess I’ll deal with the snaps.

Yeah watch out for that sotware
I think it’s a strength because I don’t want to chat with fascists, thanks
CLIs are almost always magnitudes more expressive than their feeble, derivative GUIs.
