I’m someone’s favorite.

Then you’re camping!
Gotta be unpredictable, the nozzles can smell intent.
I would bet that you’re all guys
Weirdly sexist take…
Every time I get downvoted, I move an inch closer to the exit door of this community.
Lol OK bye.
Nobody gives a shit and complaining about down votes is the quickest way to get them.
Guess what! Outside of a few custom instances that for some reason want to be reddit, the fediverse doesn’t track your total karma.
Unless you’re going back to keep track of your comments for some weird reason, the only time you see a down voted comment is when you get replies.
I could have hundreds of net down votes by now, but I don’t know because luckily my instance doesn’t track votes.
The point is, it’s a little number next to an arrow. Who gives a shit.
My 6th grade teacher did exactly this, but went beyond normal nicknames and said if there’s ANYTHING you want to be called she would use that name instead. Granted, every teacher before that would hear the nicknames and just use them anyway, but this one went a step beyond that.
Not a single kid used their birth name. Some used regular nicknames, some used their parents nickname for them, and some chose something else. I went the cringier route and chose “silent hill because I like that game and I’m usually quiet” and sure enough she called me that all year. Had the nicknames down by the end of the week and still knew each child’s real name for when she’s talking to other adults.
I don’t see what the big deal is with using someone’s preferred name. Legitimately the only reason to not use it in this context is to be a piece of shit.
Never heard of it before, but now I know what I’m doing this evening.
Same. I’ve been using magicearth but I keep my eyes open for any alternative to a popular google app , just so I have a backup if something goes wonky.
Yeah, I’ve never once seen anything but criticism over the US’s involvement in the middle east.
The most I’ve seen is a couple people saying the equivalent of “well SOMEONE had to do something about X” And a bunch of others jumping on them to clarify that X either never existed, or was massively exaggerated and the US isn’t the World Police.
Genuinely would love to see someone link a good faith comment trying to argue the above, so I can tell them all about how they’re a fucknut
Can you truly say you’ve had the HB experience if you haven’t recieved emoji/sticker/gif spam from people who weren’t alive for 9/11, have never been outside their country, and refuse to listen to opposing views, but know with full certainty that all western countries are 100% full of genociders and colonial rapists who all deserve the glorious death the super benign, extremely peaceful and misunderstood countries of North Korea, China, and Russia who have never once been correctly accused of human rights violations…
And of course, if they point out that your country has dipped into those things in the past, well your entire worldview is shattered and their whataboutism has solved everything and proves you deserve the death they crave for you.
“Kamala” is hard to pronounce, yet they never had a problem with “Barack Hussein Obama pause for the scary middle-eastern/Islamic-sounding name to sink into racist audience”
And I love when Palin got called out directly for that and she backpedaled so hard, trying to make it sound like they always do that with everyone and started rattling off republican full names like that made a single bit of difference…
Can we get a truth-o-meter to scrutinize all candidates during debates like they do in futurama?
There’s a difference in saying something sexist and racist to be sexist and racist vs being practical due to other people’s sexism and racism.
I don’t like it any more than you, but I’m afraid they’re right. While the country might benefit from two women, two POC, two women of color any variation thereupon, they might not have the best chance in certain (usually older) demographics. And unfortunately this isn’t a contest we can pick the morally right choice, lose with dignity, and still come out okay.
“Stand in the ashes of a [Million] dead and ask them if honor matters… Their silence is your answer.”
After going through project 2025, I do not think I am being dramatic or hyperbolic with that video game quote.
Truck, truck, rich prick, rich prick…
0 surprises here. Except maybe the wrx, thinking about it, I would have thought it’d be higher than average but not that much higher.
When I was in highschool I was home alone at an apartment complex, already riddled with anxiety, and would never answer the door.
Cops started banging on the door one day and it sounded like they switched to kicking at one point. Bellowing about how they’ll arrest anyone inside unless we open up.
They went around back and started banging on the glass sliding door when it didn’t slide open, which would of course have been claimed to be open the whole time I’m sure.
The management office across the street had left minutes beforehand, and one yelled about getting the keys, went over to bang on that door too.
After about half an hour of me frantically trying to get a response from my sister or parents, the former ignoring me because higshcool siblings, the latter were on a date night, they got really quiet and all hurried away. I assume someone finally realized they were in the wrong place. Were it any other situation I would have had things handled, but I was not prepared for cops.
Management got pissy about the boot scuffs all over the white door, and refused to believe it was cops since “police don’t make mistakes” (whitest boomer Karen you’ve never seen said this) and demanded we pay for the damage. My parents stuck by my story. Ultimately management just repainted everyone’s doors and trim a month later so it didn’t matter.
ACAB/ALLAB Combo right there.
Good point.
So, sink into a subduction fault, or launch into the sun?
… Which was my original point…
Fair enough, given the small dimensions I figured lightweight and easy to repair/replace is the biggest feature you’re going for.
I considered adding in a “for if you want to take a step up” to it, but that sounded to me like I was trying to say yours is somehow lesser, which is definitely not the case.
Too bad videos can’t give a good idea of sound quality, because I’d love to hear it. Based on the specs I can see, this thing should be a nice little powerhouse in it’s own right!
Yes, and we can see how well not burning them to the ground is going.
That’s been working out so well so far.
The only way to keep them accountable while actually ensuring compliance is to burn them to the ground if they step out of line.
All I can think of while seeing “Oklahoma city” is “oh… Shit…”
So much stuff is going to die around here simply because it can’t live in Oklahoma’s climate.
Certain trees have started dying en-masse around me because they were already at their upper tolerance for temperatures and water.
