  • I use Librewolf as my daily driver, however it breaks a lot of websites. We had to purchase plane tickets yesterday and to use regular Firefox.

I was super hyped for Ladybird but there was this weird thing regarding pronouns on their docs (last year?) and no matter the outcome, I just decided to not follow it anymore.

I have Chromium installed for things that break even on regular Firefox and for comparing websites when I need.

On mobile (grapheneOS), I am currently using Firefox Nightly, I think because it was the only one I was able to install extensions from custom repositories, I am not sure if that’s still the case. I know I can (and should use) Vanadium, but I always miss my FF extensions when I do it. I play a lot of things so I love when I am automatically redirected from Fandom to a Breeze wiki instance, for example.

I never tried any other browsers of the list, and honestly I am very curious on the differences between Librewolf and Waterfox. Wasn’t able to do the research by myself yet.

  • I am sorry to necro this post from a month ago but wanted to say I really appreciated the time and effort you put on this answer.

I have been using Logseq for a few years now and in my case collaboration is welcome. Me and my spouse are using AnyType for this currently (We tried using Vikunja and Planka but didn’t like them). I thought about having a shared Logseq graph but I have been having issues with the Logseq git plugin and I abhor the idea of uploading our personal notes to GitHub.

I searched about Standard Notes and it seems they even got purchased by Proton last year, but as soon as I open their webpage I got greeted by at least 5 AI images.

One that I heard about recently is Joplin. It is very similar to Evernote.

  • If you are replying with “isn’t this the guy” it means you didn’t bother to read the post, which also removes the merits of you questioning if what he is claiming is fiction or not.

But people on HN provided context and it indeed seem he was stalked and harassed, but through his VTuber persona and there was even a GDocs document with the details.

Edit: His VTuber persona is Asahi Lina

  • Damn, Linus really went out of his way to say:

How about you accept the fact that maybe the problem is you. You think you know better. But the current process works. It has problems, but problems are a fact of life. There is no perfect. However, I will say that the social media brigading just makes me not want to have anything at all to do with your approach. Because if we have issues in the kernel development model, then social media sure as hell isn’t the solution. The same way it sure as hell wasn’t the solution to politics. Technical patches and discussions matter. Social media brigading - no than\k you.

  • that’s interesting! I’m looking for a pack tbh

The icon pack I am using currently is from the store I mentioned, it is called Arcticons Material You and they have surprisingly niche icons (like brazilian banking apps). The ones they don’t have I just use the icon with the first letter of the app.

Uh I dont like it but I want to try it first. What about Image Toolbox? https://f-droid.org/packages/ru.tech.imageresizershrinker/ it can remove Exit data and I like the app!

You don’t have to take metadata away from your pictures if you aren’t that concerned but privacy. I haven’t used Image Toolbox before, just mentioned the one I use!

Never heard of it but it’s okay, not a big deal

Adaptive Charging is a very nice feature but it is meaning to have long lasting benefits, I don’t think it is a deal breaker

Im really disappointed to know my bank uses the cards from a brand but they don’t have an app to pay without card

I was disappointed to learn that many banking institutions used to have this feature, removed it and now feature Google Wallet.

What do you mean? Do you have any example for popular-ish apps? I want to know more

Apps that rely on location might not function properly sometimes. Pokemon Go is one that comes to mind, you can access it but sometimes the location can be buggy.

I have been using GrapheneOS for almost a year now. If you have any other questions, let me know!

    • You can change the default app icons easily. The Accrescent store that can be downloaded from the gOS store even have some icon packs that are FOSS.
    • You can download the Pixel Camera from the App Store. I would keep it without Network access and remove the meta data with ExitEraser depending of where I am posting those pictures.
    • Battery seems the same but you won’t have access to Adaptive Charging (when your phone is plugged in it tries to keep your phone without reaching 100% to improve battery life).
    • You won’t be able to tap cards with your phone unless your bank app provides it. Google Wallet doesn’t and won’t work.
    • I wasn’t able to get Android Auto to work at all.
    • You will need to be used to apps not working properly and testing the compatibility modes, specially if they use the location services.
