How does one not feel safe on a digital platform? Even if someone physically threatens you, nothing is going to happen to you. And you can block/mute people you don’t care for.
I still use it. For that which I engage, or who I engage with, it hasn’t changed for me. Almost 100% for metal bands. Tours, album releases. We have a pretty cool metal community going. People I’ve been speaking with for many years now.
Leaving a platform you don’t like, or the reasons you don’t like it, isn’t “common sense”.
Unfortunately, everyone of your quoted feedback is spot on. Lemmy got the worst of reddit’s political echo chamber combined with the “I am so smart” crowd. To make Lemmy barely tolerable, I’ve had to filter far too many words and block far too many communities. Most people aren’t going to jump through hoops to make a platform usable.
As someone who doesn’t use these platforms (except Twitter), why does Pixelfed’s UI look just like Instagram, and why does Bluesky’s UI look just like Twitter? Are they just cut/paste copies?
Did you replace them with shittier windows afterwards?
Are people really buying into this 51st state nonsense? It’s never going to happen. Orange man is a legit professional shit talker. Damn near everything he states shouldn’t be taken seriously. I’ve easily learned to ignore his words and simply focus on his actions.
