I can definitely recommend Librewolf over Vivaldi if you don’t need crazy levels of customization. To me it was just much more than what I needed so I went with Librewolf which is also obviously a lot lighter. Vivaldi being based on Chromium is pretty much the only criticizable thing about the project. Henry from Techlore interviewed their CEO not long ago, look it up, it was quite interesting.

For YT Music: Innertune or Outertune are unbeatable for me!

I’ve used it for four years on my Fairphone 3 with no serious issues. I don’t use their cloud storage solution so the recent outage didn’t affect me at all. My battery often lasts up to 40 hours. I am very careful with what I install on the phone, but it works and is private/secure enough for my threat model. I recommend it wholeheartedly

Kagi is quite good but I’ve been using Qwant and Searx with great results as well and without having to pay.

For Maps I’d recommend Organic Maps and OSMAnd. For Gboard go with Florisboard, Heliboard or Thumb-Key if you feel like trying something new that actually makes you type faster.

Yeah it’s practically impossible to completely escape GAFAM unless we renounce ‘digital life’ or make a humongous effort or whatever. It’s about reducing / minimizing the amount of shit they know about us, not being the coolest most degoogled guy in the room. I can’t afford to quit my job just because they make me use Microsoft Authenticator.
