I ran Lockdown in Wine without any problems during my time at school. Given, this was about 7 years ago so things may have changed.
“These work in web browser included into tvs like samsung”
and
“I have not tried it in the browsers thats included into tvs tho”
Are contradictory statements.
Yes but doing it on a Nintendo Switch is cumbersome. It requires you to edit the DNS settings on the console itself. Nintendo doesn’t support unofficial multiplayer services.
Arhive.org is where I get most of mine.
VLC if you just want to watch it, MakeMKV/Handbrake if you want to rip it to a file.
VLC does have the codecs included, you’re likely just not opening it properly.
Usenet often uses obfuscation to hide the contents of the files, which defeats most of the bots which are only matching filenames to their protected content.
I also prefer Usenet since I can encrypt my connection, whereas torrents require a bit more faith in your VPN provider than I’m comfortable with.
Well, back to Usenet and Jellyfin for me I guess.
I install them on my Windows Desktop, copy the files, and run them with Proton
Audiobookshelf, Calibre-Web, Plex/Jellyfin, FreshRSS, NextCloud, DokuWiki.
Hardly dystopian. They just had someone who understands how tech works on staff.
Pointing out what a moron this guy was is not the same thing as agreeing with Nintendo’s shitty legal practices.
Lockdown was a blast! I was paid to do what I always wanted; stay home and do whatever I felt like and not worry about other people.
Now that it’s over, I haven’t been able to keep a steady job. I’ve lost all the support I built up for myself in social situations.
Ubuntu for my servers, and Linux Mint for my Workstation.
I grew up using Debian-based distros, so it’s what I’m comfortable with. I like how Mint seems to “just work” most of the time, especially with samba shares and usb peripherals.
Ubuntu server is primarily because it’s incredibly easy to get support when you need it.
My god that might just work, I’ve used RS Toolkit a bunch and forgot it had that feature!
I’ve had the MSN message sound as my SMS Ringer for years now. The looks I get from people are fantastic.
Yeah I figured this was the case. Ah well!
Then why does the link to download the client lead to the MS Store instead of Github?
Your client is still Windows Store exclusive? That’s a hard pass from me.
For me it depends on what the bot is actually doing. I don’t have any problem with a bot that helps with moderation, provides an unpaywalled article, or others that help the user.
What I do dislike are all the bots that are just making posts from an RSS feed. If it’s a dedicated community for that purpose that’s fine, but that’s often not the case.
edit: I think a simple way to sum up my feelings is that I don’t want bots posting content, I want people to do that. Bots can help parse that content, or even provide context, but I don’t come here to interact with them.
