I built this rig ages ago, so definitely not that. I probably didn’t use enough when I upgraded my CPU last year so redoing it should fix it up
This is my project tomorrow. CPU temps have been much higher than normal, so new thermal paste should hopefully do the trick
How is this a meme? It’s an update (a stupid one for sure)
I’m currently running an Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro (Currently $159.99 as of writing this). Elegoo is a generally good brand, they’re copies of the Ender series basically. Since you’re already used to Linux, look into Klipper which is custom firmware for 3D printers. You install the firmware onto the printer, then do all the heavy lifting on a separate computer (A Raspberry Pi in my case).
The Bamboo printers are basically closed source from what I understand, but I think I’ve seen some open source mods recently for them.
For filaments, PLA is very strong but brittle and will degrade in the sunlight. PETG would be a step up. Strong with some flex so it doesn’t shatter, and holds up better in the heat than PLA. ASA would probably be recommended as well, but I’ve yet to mess with that.
It’s likely prepping for loss of income from Google
I love a good Psych gif
So far foil seems to be smoothing things out. Not great, it will take some fiddling with, but it’s working!
Yeah, no bed screws on this one. I’ll need to upgrade this bed at some point, that’s for sure. The foil is a good idea, I could put it under the PEI sheet in the front right to bring it up the smallest amount. I’d be able to bring my z-offset up a bit and have a semi-consistent first layer that way
My poor parents phone bill when I started using Twitter over SMS…
I love Elegoo’s printers. Got a Neptune 2S and a 3 Pro tuned and running Klipper, they’re good workhorses
Looks like nice even pressure, good job! It looks like you’re underextruding a bit though
Yeah, this isn’t uplifting at all. It’s just sad
Fun fact! Glue is put into the cheese on pizza slices for promotional purposes. It’s what gets them that nice stringing stretching cheese on video.
Got any peer reviewed scientific evidence for your positions?
With Sunlu’s new filament joiner coming out, I might give this a try by splicing segments of different browns together into a big roll. It’s a very near concept, and your print looks amazing!
It’s a good photo that’s been in a few communities now, but I don’t believe it fits this community. The rules and pinned post fail to mention analog photography, but based on the usual posts I’m thinking this shouldn’t be here.
The following was added to my fstab
//192.168.86.181/TrixieTV /home/brobot/Storage/Completed/TV cifs credentials=/home/brobot/.smb 0 0 //192.168.86.181/TrixieMovies /home/brobot/Storage/Completed/Movies cifs credentials=/home/brobot/.smb 0 0
The credentials are using a new user ‘moose’ that owns the folders and has full control
user=moose password=3141
I’ll look into that, thanks!
We just had a total power outage, and restarting my main machine I remembered I have Linux Mint installed as duel boot. I’ve been waiting for a final push to get me to migrate away from Windows. Would it be easier to do all this from Linux Mint instead of Windows?
This is the way. It’s always a risk buying used drives, and everything I’ve seen and heard about them has been good news so I expect OP getting a replacement should be pretty easy.
