I know that, in my mind the algorythm or maybe better to said the algorythm’s parameters run on client side, no need to create a Fediverse instance on client side. We can already to something a bit like that with word filters.

Appart broadcom being the worst, vmware has to go now…
It would be nice to have some kind of user controled algorythm. Maybe even running on client side for privacy.

You can change the UI if you selfhost it is like themes.
And it seems that new themes are coming in the next releases.
I looked into that, enterprise grade used mini pc would be good fit, but everything I’ve found has a TDP >15W, that is above my idea of a low power mini PC (as in consumming few electricity, keep the bill low…). For instance, Intel 9600T would draw at the minimum 25W and is rated for 35W.

Indeed relays are essential to small and medium sized instances. Even mandatory for single users instances.
Back in the day my small Miskey instance greatly benefited from open relays.
Hosting relays is a great gesture, underestimated, for the fediverse.

Maybe I’ve been using Mint - Cinnamon for too long.
Need to get back and try KDE again, maybe OpenSUSE or something where KDE is 1st class citizen. Advices welcome 🤗
Having just joined pixelfed, struggling a bit to discover it, I find this letter greatly motivating 😎
Short answer: no.
Long answer: hell no.
Same, a bit sad experience with login failures because the authentication process timeout. And slow refresh, hanging when scrolling… I am considering leaving social to go another instance. The point is like on Mastodon : if you are not on the main instance you will miss content, by design you get that split view of federated instances… It’s anoying.
That rewrite just for the sake of using .net is insane
