Guess I’m poor ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I bet it’s the same person with multiple accounts.
As someone who was permabanned from reddit for “abusing the report button” by reporting transphobia, I’m not confident this is just the result of an automated system.
Yep, this is low, even for them
They suspended his account? That’s … so incredibly heartless and sad. Thank you for these links.
On his way to spread the good news about Wednesday
it’s Wednesday
He made the ultimate sacrifice for what he believed, and I hope we never stop talking about him.
I’m from rural South Dakota, so I’m easily impressed lol
I love these pictures, so thanks for sharing. Even though I’m too young to have attended one of these schools, my dad did, and it always makes me think of him.
Also, I’ve been to Manitoba. My husband and I have road tripped to Winnipeg, which is a surprisingly interesting city, kind of a hidden gem in my opinion.
Do you think it’s possible that some other people may have been here previously and set the props? I live in South Dakota where we definitely have some abandoned schools similar to this one, but I also know teens and other people often find them and mess around because life is so boring here lol
Oh, you took this? I’m sorry, I should have asked. I know a lot of instagrammers will set props in abandoned locations, and so I jumped to an unfair conclusion. My bad.
I like this picture. I’ve seen schools like this, except the ones I’ve seen are preserved and part of a museum exhibit.
The only thing that is slightly annoying about this picture is the person who took it obviously placed books and papers on some desks to make it look more dramatic. I’d have rather seen it without added props.
Oh yes, that’s a good point. I wonder if there’s a FOSS app that does this? I’d actually download this because there are many times I’d like to revisit an idea later.
I typed out a thoughtful response to this, and then the server hiccuped and I lost it. When I was still in college, I used to get ideas when I was doing something, and I’d pause to record voice notes on my phone.
The problem is you then have to remember to listen to them later, and also I hate the sound of my voice!
Although her point “Can you tell me the thesis and supporting arguements of videos you watched from two calendar years ago?” doesn’t really land for me - I can barely remember my own life from two years ago.
I have my master’s in a field I’m very passionate about, and I can barely remember my thesis when people ask me about it, even though I spent two years developing it :P
I do like the author’s points very much, and I especially appreciate her unique perspective, because a lot of times I read things like this from US or UK authors, as opposed to someone who’s had the experiences she has. But I also agree that maybe it’s a bit unfair to consumers of audiobooks and alternative forms of reading, and it probably misses its target audience.
I showed my husband as soon as I finished reading because I felt like he could relate to a lot of what she said since he has ADHD, and as soon as he saw the length of the article, he said, “You’re kidding, right?”
Also, I listen to audiobooks a lot while I’m out walking or longboarding, and I really don’t notice a difference between that and conventional reading. I feel like I absorb the information just as well, and sometimes even more because I’m keeping my hands and feet busy and am therefore less distracted than when I try to sit still and read.
Do you use Firefox? Reader mode should solve the problem with lag.
The author is actually mindful of everything you just mentioned and has experienced these things herself.
Fwiw this article is well worth reading, in my opinion. I feel like it presents a valuable perspective and insight. I just shared it on a couple discord servers, after reading it myself.
Do you have links to the books, or do we have to locate or buy them?

My co-worker was a victim of one of these scams for 5 years, and she wouldn’t listen when we tried to tell her because in her mind the guy was totally real
