I was trying or Linux for gaming… But I found using mods too difficult or annoying and switched back to Windows. That’s only for my gaming machine though…I use a Linux laptop for everything else
How often do you get new drives? I’ve been through 2 drives that store all my data since the last 15 or so years. I’m wanting to get a nas together now though but I’ve no server experience.
I super appreciate the comment, as I’ve had the same issue and didn’t know how to deal with it without a full reboot. If there an equivalent command in Linux for what control Alt delete does in Windows?
The poop must flow!
I agree honestly. I have a hard wire connection at 2 points in my home… Where my work desk is, and in the garage, which is at the complete opposite side of my house as my WiFi router. I have a could devices hardwired on the garage, including an AP, so now the entire property has WiFi. Everything else is WiFi anyway, so why bother running wire everywhere!?
Oh wait, they removed that? I had no idea because I stopped using Ubuntu when they put ads in the dash.

Is there a good, free, cross platform alternative?
Thanks for the tomato tip. I have so many that have been blushing but then the rabbit has gotten to them, and my good for nothing dogs aren’t guarding shit.
I had no idea you should place them upside down. Is there a known scientific reason for placing upside down? Or just an observed best practice?
I use Chromecast to watch jellyfin on my TV. My host PC is hardwired, and obviously the Chromecast is through WiFi
Ya, like jolly rouge said, they’re pretty good. I have had an occasional issue where the track pad didn’t want to work after waking the PC up. But otherwise it’s been bullet proof. All the hot keys work no problem. I haven’t had any of the weird “can’t wake from suspended state” issues I’ve had with older PCs. I basically leave my laptop plugged in next to my desk and it’s ready at a moments notice. I use Windows for gaming and work btw. But I’ve even installed Valheim on my laptop just to see if it would work and it totally does. No complaints on fedora. I used endeavor on it as well and I want to say even pop is. Just a bit of distro going there, no reason I ditched the other two other than just preferring fedora in the end.
I love my dell 5300 latitude with fedora. Touchscreen, 13 inches, super compact. And a dime a dozen as you can find used enterprise laptops on eBay/Facebook market.
Slap a large nvme in there and you’re good to go for like, under 300. With the leftover cash, you can even get a docking station and monitor if you wanted a dank setup at home.
Just coming in to say that I’ve tried pretty much all the noob Linux suggested distros, and fedora is what I use now. Started with Ubuntu in 2016. Gone through a few other like mint and peppermint. Even endeavor was really good but not 100% for me. Fedora had been pretty bullet proof.
Ya, this comment is way too far down. All 365 apps with within the browser. Problem solved.
I installed Bazzite on a Dell latitude just to check it out… The son of a bitch booted once, let me install updates then never booted again.
I work in IT and my 4 year old retired Dell 5300 is working just fine. Great form factor as well.
Hey, I just installed fedora, how do you get that dock at the bottom? Sorry, I’ve been using kde for a while but wanted to try out fedora. Enjoying it so far
I disagree. It seems that the letters are along where the stress is, which can eventually cause determination. This part scares me when you consider how important what it’s holding it’s.
