Reclaim is another word I thought about putting there. Like, reclaiming control, but that’s also a bit more of a nebulous concept than sabotage.

There’s a saying: “Don’t attribute malice to that which can be adequately explained by incompetence” which means people are more likely to make bad decisions through ignorance rather than hatred.

But here’s the fact: this is malice. They’re simply relying on the support of their blind followers and for others to let them off the hook with the excuse of incompetency.

When you look at these decisions through the lens of what gives the decision makers more power and money, then those decisions start to make perfect sense.

I don’t want to simply repeat what others have said, but on a personal level, I’m actually enjoying the smaller overall community - it makes it a bit more personal, I feel. I enjoy that. Yeah, fair enough, it’s not great for niches, but you don’t have to be tethered down to one place for your content.

Back in my day, you had to go to completely different websites for your niche content! Forums were the mainstream!
