Depends on your dishwasher. Even in top rack after a couple of washes PETG it warped for me on standard wash. If you run a dry cycle or sterilization cycle on your dishwasher forget it. If its anything precise (I printed a lid with threads) a single standard wash is enough to ruin precision with subtle warping. Also the dishwasher can introduce moisture into gaps created by printing that can grow mold or bacteria. I think we would all love better options for dishwashable printed materials, but I would argue PETG is not really it.

I’ve long since given up on thinking Oscar winners equate to good films. It’s a closed voting system subject to cronyism and hidden agendas. I honestly would trust my time spent more with movie recommendations made by all you asshats on Lemmy. I’m not going to bury my head in the sand on Anora - the preview did nothing for me at all, but after winning all those awards, I’ll at least see what the fuss was about via pirating most likely. For 2024 films though, I’ve got Lisa Frankenstein on my to watch list before Anora though.

Do the same prints come out fine in PLA? First thing I do with a bad PETG print is to see if it comes out ok in PLA. This helps determine if it a nuanced thing with the filament, a problem with my gcode, or a mechincal machine issue (belt tension) xyz calibration, etc.

Struggling a bit to see how this story lends itself somehow to video. Is there a text based version of this?

If I’m willing to sacrifice some filament think perhaps just doing a 90% infill in the area where you put the plaster would be sufficient for ballast and allow me to avoid the plaster work?
