Thank you.

The biggest crime here is fried chicken and coffee. My god, I’m disgusted.
Oh shoot, right. I was thinking real life time not story time.
Wouldn’t it be slightly further away?
Ah yes, United States of America National Parks of the United States of America.
I would downvote simply because this type of community, “fuck whatever” exists solely as an echo chamber of internet hate train and is unlikely to ever produce anything of value.
I would claim that it’s better to downvote to prevent other people from finding extremely biased posts from a one sided community such as this. There is no arguing in good faith here, only tribalism.
I got banned from a blahaj instance for likening them to ml and hexbear.
Kind of ironic that you’re complaining about the evolution of language on a post about the evolution of language.
I haven’t paid for windows since like 2014. The fuck are you guys doing that you haven’t gotten a free legitimate license?
The term has been stolen and redefined . It’s pointless to be pedantic about it at this point.

One central server is created. Users finally have an easy time joining lemmy and most are content with staying right where they are. A large amount of content is now centralized to one place. Suddenly, financial interests take notice of a large amount of untapped potential. Caving in to the opportunity to live an easier life under the warm blanket of money, the central server owner sells the server to the highest bidder.
The new central server owner defederates from smaller instances, eventually cutting themselves off from all other lemmy servers. Enshittification begins.
I’m sure there’s reasons this couldn’t happen but I think the biggest strength of lemmy is having users just randomly pick and then figure it out later. I started out on .world but didn’t like their moderation and defederation practices, so I moved.
