It’s as hilarious as the first time I read it. I think it’s aged quite well. Its almost timeless.
What instance is “literal Nazis”?
And what we’ve learned about trump cultists is that echo chambers are fabulous.
I think OP is confusing the fact that people are sick of Linux users preaching with people using Linux.
Again, I’m curious as to what kind of interviews you are running if you aren’t catching people who claim to have experience in something, but have only basically crammed online for (at best) a few weeks between an interview request and actual interview. I feel like if someone had tried to become an expert in the field during such a short time, it would be painfully obvious, unless they were an Olympic level bullshitter. Also, if you claim to have experience in something, and I ask about that experience, and you make it up, that is still lying.
I’ve been working in tech since 2000 and have been in a hiring position since ~2008. I’ve done very well for myself, and continue to do well, and I’ve never had to lie. I’ve always just treated most of the down page requirements as “nice to have” or “have something similar” rather than hard requirements, and have always been upfront about it in interviews about the actual amount of experience I’ve had in these things. What kind of interviews are you running where you aren’t asking about the requirements for the job? One of my main goals in interviews is to discuss what the candidate has worked on so I know how well it fits into what we’re doing.
I do agree that if you do the job well, no one is going to ask questions. But if looks like you’ve lied to get the job, it makes it pretty easy decision to fire you if things are going poorly.
You’re right. Being rich might open up more types of spontaneity, but this just sounds like an excuse to not do anything.
It’s shocking to me when people say that reddit moderators are more overbearing than here. They’ll literally ban you for how you vote here. Lol
Read the post?
Where on reddit was as bad as .ml? Other than maybe the Donald or conservative?
2 years ago if you had asked me, I would have said probably 75% my next car would be a Tesla. Now it’s near 0%. I don’t say zero only because I could easily see myself buying a used one if I got it super cheap. Basically Im more cheap than I hate Elon.
All people should donate and those who donate the least get famous.
Oh wow! Look what happened! It’s all the poor people who contributed to the problem the least, who also can’t afford to donate, that look bad.
Sorry, but this is patently a terrible idea. at least from the perspective of calling out the poorest.
That’s the joke, but worse.
They need to be maximally broadly appealing? That sounds like capitalism to me.
“broadly appealing” means “human nature.” This is my point. Capitalism is just a good system to figure this out. You want stuff that appeals to you, as do I. But that stuff is boring to most other people. Most people like this drivel, unfortunately. You just want a system that caters to you, and your niche interests (ones we likely share, BTW). You just want the stuff you want on what is available to the broad public. . . .But why is that fair to the majority?
And you know what? With things like youtube, podcasts, and streaming (all thanks to capitalism, BTW), all of that is available to you. Just not on inappropriately named cable stations. Why do you care? Do you even get cable? Who does anymore? Even my pre-boomer dad has cut the cord.
Don’t get me wrong. Capitalism certainly has it’s faults. There are certain things, like policing, fire protection, and health care, that simply don’t fit into the mold of capitalism well. Even as a well off American, I’m all for strong socialism for many things, like what we see in Europe.
I just find the concept that “these aren’t the original intent of the channels. . .what a failure of capitalism!” to be kind of funny. Who really cares?
Capitalism just takes advantage of human nature. That’s why it has clearly been the most successful system, at least as a starting point, for the overall well being of a nation.
The issue with these channels is that most people just don’t give a fuck about the information. They want to be entertained. Capitalism is just good system that enabled that to be figured out.
Your issue is not with capitalism, but human nature.
But there are letters on ABC.
Checkmate, atheists.
This is a much more honest answer, one that I also agree with.
“It’s expensive, but I still want everything, so I pirated it. Seems pretty justified.”
Look, I’ve pirated a ton in my life, but this whole “This is actually a noble pursuit” is such a load of fucking horse shit. We want something and don’t want to pay the price that is required to get it, so we take it. The best part is “preserving” it, because we all know that when this guy is done playing, it will be deleted and he’ll never think of it again.
OP says everyone just wants to have a good life, you come in an intentionally antagonize people. It’s pretty clear who missed the point.
