What’s the benefit of a seedbox over a VPN?
I’ve had a server up for almost 9 years never had any randoms even join. Don’t think I’ve ever used the default port tho
Nah I’m alcoholic, why defend it beer makes me happy
I use unraid with 5950x and it wouldn’t stop crashing until I disabled c states
So that plus 18 hdds and 2 ssds it sits at 200watts 24/7
This, I used to use Kodi+Serena+realdebrid but it was not as user friendly. Stremio is by far the best option if you just want to watch shows without making a server/ having to actually manage downloads or making it into a project.
You just set it up and use it like any other streaming app
No reason to self host unless you find joy in maintaining a server/ library
I don’t fileshare, I use usenet, don’t wanna have to be constantly seeding isos. I like to rename and move my files onto my server not keep them on my cache drive.
Same been using computers my whole life so self hosting was just gonna be apart of it.
Yeah my server is loud af so I moved it to the basement. Easiest way to grt internet down there was through existing coax. Got full 2.5gbe through it
Looks like the ceilings follow the roof lines instead of being flat so they just made the furniture follow those lines
I don’t know why people can’t just spin their forks and have the spaghetti wrap around? Never seemed like something difficult or requiring extra tools
5950x in an matx board with 15 x 3.5in drives 1 x sata sad 1 x optane u.2 drive (pulls like 10watts) 1 x Nvidia A2000 1 x Lsi 9305 16i 1 x 2.5gbe intel nic 3 x 140 mm fans at full tilt
Runs at like 120 watts at idle, like 220 watts with a good amount of work and peaks at like 320 watts if I make it do a lot of work
Seren, tried ezra before but still mainly just use seren
Yeah been using real-debrid and kodi for almost a decade only thing I have issues with is foreign content. 99% of the time it’s super practical vs maintaining a library or buying storage. I also always stream 4k bluray remuxes which is not what I would want to store anyway
I didn’t even notice the app was sluggish, but this is still great news!
I run the steam headless docker, using dockers you don’t have to pass through a gpu so Jellyfin can still use it for transcoding aswell. Or like you said you can go the other way and put them both in a vm
Linux still doesn’t play nice with nvidia right? Last time I tried to daily drive it I had many issues with my dual monitor setup, where each monitor is a different resolution refresh rate and has gsync.
Has Wayland caught up to WDDM? Microsoft has been steadily improving multi monitor rendering, and this is the only reason I haven’t switch yet
Mines alright seed just long enough to stay afloat
