Were there many characters that didn’t flirt back with him though? He was considered a sex icon in the movies. I don’t recall any characters being put off by his constant attempts to have sex. Not that it’s something people in real life should try to reenact, but I don’t know if I would say it’s sexual harassment. It’s a bit different compared to Johnny Bravo or Pepe Lepew.
It’s by far been one of if not the best way to reach their audience for well over a decade. RSS feeds might be well used by lemmy users, but you don’t really think most people get their news that way? Or even know how to use RSS, or what it is. I’ve got friends and family members who have never owned a personal computer, but they have accounts on all the biggest social media platforms.

I don’t think giving users the freedom to choose what they want or don’t want to see encourages anything. Some of us are here for the memes or literally anything other than politics. Everytime a debate about defederating comes up, that fact is the first thing everyone forgets about
I agree with you there. I’ve personally found it very interesting to try new programs and figure out each one’s layout and work flow, but I’ve found many people absolutely hate doing that. I get it, if you want to just use the product for what it’s intended for maybe you don’t want to waste time learning the differences. All of that in consideration, I don’t think gimp is that bad
It used to be way worse. I first tried gimp 10ish years ago and instead of the program running from a single window it was like the canvas, the hierarchy tree, and every other toolbox had its own separate window. I think they updated that a while ago now.

+1 for anki. I struggled for years to find anything decent for Swahili and there is more content for Swahili than I got out of Duolingo. One thing I didn’t know about anki until i tried it because I didn’t see anyone mention it, the flashcards can include pictures/videos/audio.

I’m not a developer but I believe it was the Voyager dev that explained Lemmy currently can’t do this. Apps only reach out to Lemmy servers while they are open. Push notifications would require the developers to run their own servers that the apps would reach out to while running in the background and no one wants to pay for that especially since most apps are free. I may be explaining this wrong.
